​We have all been there at one point or another, garlic breath! Whether we consumed it in pasta, garlic bread or to protect ourselves from evil, we love garlic! The aftermath is, unfortunately, garlic breath, yuck!

Here are some of the best ways to get rid of the offending garlic odor coming from our breath.

Natural ways:

Parsley ,Cardamom, mint, fennel, cloves, anise seeds – these seeds and herbs are very effective in neutralizing garlic odors. Try chewing on parsley after eating garlic.

Eat Apples, Raw Apples – Acts as a natural deodorant to bad-breath causing sulphides in garlic. have an apple it will do more than just keep the doctor away.

Eat minty foods to freshen up your breath. Fresh parsley, mints and minty tea can all remove the odor from onion and garlic. Gum with xylitol is particularly good for freshening up your mouth.

Drink Lemon Juice – Lemon is good in neutralizing odor of garlic and will kill bacteria. Try sucking on a lemon wedge after eating garlic. The acid in lemon juice neutralizes alliinase, an enzyme produced by crushing garlic that causes our unfortunate offensive breath.

Green Tea and Fluids and peppermint, contain polyphenols that reduce the sulfur that garlic produces. Drink tea while or after eating garlic. Green tea is very high in antioxidants, as with the enzymes in the apple, polyphenols cover up the odor-causing chemicals in garlic.

Drinking milk, preferably whole milk, helps reduce the odor of garlic in one’s breath.

Mustard. Take a teaspoon of mustard and swish it around your mouth for then spitting it out. Then take a second and  swallow it. This will get rid of the smell throughout your body.


Brush your teeth it is always an effective remedy.

Chew Gum This will cover the of the garlic and help get rid of any garlic that is stuck in your mouth. try , mint spearmint, or cinnamon flavored gum.

Mouthwash Swish around some mouthwash for two minutes and you’re good to go!
